religious forums

religious forums can start fight so staying away from it is better

That’s a load of bullshit.
I once got into a physical altercation over whether Slash was a better guitarist than Dave Murray. By your logic, we shouldn’t talk about music, either.

I am not sure that trying to completely change one's way of thinking is going to make them switch.

I do not follow a religion, so I can't understand how that feels but it's not good.

Could the slash argument end up in smashing 2 planes in 2 buildings or make you do a suicide bombing in a crowded area?

Ending lives in name of imaginary friends is rewarded according to some interpretations of their "sacred" texts in some sides of the spectrum.

You need to use a bit of common sense to avoid extremists.

Could a lichess debate make you do those things, either? Especially when you consider this is a moderated chess site, the odds of someone being inspired to commit terrorist acts exclusively by lichess religious debates is nil.

That last sentence in your post reminds me of 1984.

Im pretty sure some nasty things have happened after discussions in forums. You should never underestimate the fanatism.

I have not read that one, but its indeed a dystopian future nowadays. You cant discuss too many topics openly because either you are literally roasted, or risk to roast your reputation. Im not the instigator of censorship, in fact i love free speech, im just recommend caution from those who do like to censor people and topics, you may be next.
