My Chess.com Experience

Alright, where should we start...

So I got bored so I created a Chess.com account on the 24th of February.

First impression:

I started exploring the site, but my device nearly crashed due to the number of ads I was getting!, and guess what, they weren't even child-friendly ads! There were ads about gambling and all that nasty stuff
( if you know what I mean :smirk: )

Puzzles:

"Alright alright," I thought, "Let's just focus on chess" so I went to the puzzles tab and clicked on it. Hmmm, puzzles are pretty much the same as Lichess. I completed 4 puzzles before I said: "You have reached your daily puzzle limit, join Premium to get unlimited puzzles!"
What the hell??! 4 puzzles? What are you? It's not like your a broke site with no income! Give at least 10 puzzles!

Actual Chess:

You don't see a lobby as you see on Lichess ( or maybe because I haven't found it yet because of how messy it is )
All these things are in the way of you actually playing chess! On Lichess it takes about 2 clicks of your mouse to start and enter a game, but on Chess.com you have to go through this maze of buttons and confirmations to actually get your game in the system! I waited for about 1-2 minutes after I confirmed my game and still no game! Hah.

At this point, I truly believed Chess.com is dope. So many buttons that lead you to somewhere random, ADS ADS ADS. This Chess.com is literally IMPOSSIBLE to navigate. Oh yeah, Chess.com has an official account just like Lichess and every 2 days they advertise their "Premium" straight to your inbox which is pretty annoying. Pairing system= trash

After this traumatic experience, I can confirm that all these rumours about Chess.com are true. It is shit.

There are some games in chess.com that can not be found in here. Also, there are different players, from different nationalities.

@AaronNZ I thought that chess.com was banned in Russia, wasn't it? How did you get through? :)

Good luck!

This is why chess.com sucks.

At least the moderators are not as sensitive as the Lichess ones.

Personally I don't find chess.com hard to navigate. It does have paywall issues for sure though. One clear advantage it does have is the many variants it offers.

One clear disadvantage is the fact that you have to pay for everything.
