I suggest wrapping a rubber band around both the lid and the jar. That usually gets things open for me. Piercing the lid also helps for pressurized containers.
Hot Water ,,, run hot water over the lid from the side ... just don't burn yourself . This expands the lid for easier opening . Use a small towel afterwards to open
Put it upside down in a bowl of hot water :) and then dry off and twist!
Do wrist curls and grip strength exercises, you'll eventually be the talk of the town - able to open even the most stubborn jars. Everything else is just a crutch, you might not have hot water, a special opener, etc. available everywhere!
Go to the gym workout 5 days a week and then come back to the pickle give yourself a pep talk and get it head on!
Push the glass side of the jar onto a flat surface *NOT WOOD* with one hand and with the other open the lid. Remember: LEFTY LOOSEY! righty tighty!

I did end up finding someone that was able to open the pickle jar, and today I managed to finally eat some pickles!
Did I tell you? I've been dreaming the last two nights straight about a guy selling pickles. Every time I managed to creep up there while nobody else was around and take as many food samples as I could. And every single time, without fail, he always caught me before I got away with them. No fair :/
But yeah, pickles never tasted so good before :))
