chess.com is not bad, in that sense. It's just freemium and just not as good as lichess in the forums (the forums are infested with trolls of the like you won't see here).

Compare it to lichess being founded in 2010 vs chess.com being founded in 2005 and you will understand why your analogy makes zero sense.
