i think there have been more than 5 of these forums
When people post things like this, I can't help but believe one of two things:
Nice bait thread though.
no chess.com actually sucks but you might be right...
@Alramech
#13 Actual reason you can know only in that situation when support team tell you something but if you didn't break any rule and you followed community policy but still account banned and staff don't inform you anything why they closed your account, do you think is it really fair ?
Here is a thread with title "shruti" that is closed now so that others don't write anything there but still you can read in off topics.... may be sometimes people just banned because they have so many enemies and on the basis of "A lot of reports"as i felt on other chess site...
Chess.com = pay to win
Lichess.org = win to get paid
@Searchingyou and @Monsterchip are correct in my opinion, and chess.com is a troll haven. I have nothing against it, I sometimes even play 4 player chess there, it is just that I believe lichess has a friendlier community.
I wonder if they on Chess.com, also have this tread spammed several times every month in their forums?
But instead, it's created by disgruntled former Lichess members.
I reckon it's not easy to run a multiple million subscribers chess website, such as chess.com. So surely mistakes do happen, and some users can be left mistreated.
But often those you or I consider trolls, they don't consider themselves as such. But on the contrary, they themselves have a reversal opinion about us, and that we are the trolls.
Lichess is a smaller community than Chess.com, and it is a none profit organisation, so I don't think those two can be compared in a fair manner.
That would be similar to comparing the search engine Duckduckgo with Google.
#11 You can't just say that anothers persons experience is invalid about a chess site, because it doesn't align with your own point of view. Come on. That isn't fair 😉
#15 I seen similar complaint about Lichess, except, Lichess won't tell people if they are convicted of doing something wrong... On the contrary, they just shadow bans people.
Morally, I am against shadow bans, and surely, you as a lawyer, can agree with me on this?
Come on. You came to a new chess site. So
why not start a new beginning and leave your past grievances about the old site behind you, where it belong.
@NaturalBornTraveller #19 yes sure, i like new beginning and shared my past experience just to tell that i'm not guilty because some members are on both sites and they know me very well.
