What's the point in creating this topic again and again? I would prefer lichess.org but one can't ignore the fact that chess.com has done a lot in promoting online chess. Lichess is obviously better for me. There must be people who think chess.com is better but they don't have the courage to say that on lichess. So it is quite obvious where such forums are heading.
cc is free too you can play there in all its formats whilst not being a subscriber
granted tactics is limited to 5 puzzles a day for non subscribers and they dont get time out protection if the vacation expires , but it does what it does well and tbh with you its social aspect is far better from what i can see
this should be a non question , ie lichess or cc but it seems that its always popping up

I like them both. I spend most of my time on chess dot com. Lichess' big advantage, aside from being free, is the study section. I don't think chess dot com has anything remotely like it.

that was the first online chess site i spent time at , now that was an atrocious site
@sabutuma I agree. I tried Yahoo chess and yeah it was bad. MSN chess was also dreadful. There was a boot table option in MSN chess where you booted someone from their table and played there instead. It became a Hee-Man arena of table booting and there was..um..chess?
