Dear moderators and developers
I got a warning recently I will get banned for aborting to many games. While I like this feature, the abortion detection has a flaw in my point of view. I play mostly correspondence matches, sometimes up to 50 games at same time what makes the UI quite confusing.
So many people accept or start a correspondence game without making any move for hours, sometimes even days. To get my UI a bit more clear I used to abort games when the opponent player didn't make a first move for hours, or as said, days. When I check the profile before aborting, I see they are logged in, playing games, but ignoring the started correspondence match for whatever reasons.
As I got warned now, I know how to avoid a ban. But still, it feels like getting blamed for unsportsmanlike behaviour what is not true in these cases from my point of view.
Maybe you can adjust the abortion abuse detection, let's say you have to make a first move within some hours?
Thanks a lot for your time and keep up the excellent work.

Wait.. you're playing correspondence games, and call it a 'flaw' when your opponents actually use their time and you abort the game because you don't like it?
I call that 'silly'.
If you don't want to wait hours for a move, play faster time controls. But don't complain if your opponents use the time they have. It's their time, they can use it however they want.

You didn't get the point, If I accept a match, playing black and the opponent doesn't make his first move with white for hours or days this is quite annoying, especially when they are online and playing.
I had 60 matches running today, about 15 matches where, in some cases even after days the first move was not played.
What is the idea to accept a match offer without playing the first move? Just being a troll, annoy others, waste some time?
Beside of that, a person not capable to understand the problem should not call others silly, that makes me laugh very hard mate....

Interesting suggestion... I wonder if the UI had some feature to hide games where the clock isn't running (because both players haven't made the first move) whether that too could suffice.

That would help a lot, kind of a button to hide games not running.

Yeah, because you need 10 years to think about the first move (as white, at that)!

As in all other debates about time controls and time use: your opponent has no obligation to justify / explain how he uses his time. It's his time, and he can do whatever he wants with it. (Except cheat of course.)
If you don't like it, don't give him that much time. (I.e. don't play time controls like '2 days per move'.)

I disagree. I think you're missing my point. You have no legitimate reason to complain about people using their time. Not even on the first move. You just don't.
"I find it annoying when people use the time on their first move to play other games" is not a legitimate reason, sorry. There is no rule that says he should actively spend that time on thinking about a move in your game. He's well within his rights to do the laundry in that time, and you would still not be allowed to abort such games.
That's not a flaw. That's just you disagreeing with the rules because you're annoyed. The rules are what they are, and I haven't seen a good reason to change them.

@Molurus in a real time game (say, 30+0), your clock time is 30 minutes. But you only get half a minute to play the first move on lichess. Then, your clock starts. Why make an exception for correspondence. And they have no problem deviating from FIDE rules, so this only seems logical to me.
Edit : As a reference to what I stated about them deviating from FIDE rules, this thread is where I was coming from :

Whatever you say. People getting insulting in first answer have always the most valuable opinion....
And "quoting" me wrong to prove your point of view is not a valid argument. I searched your postings in this forum, you never have something useful to say, Always being sarcastic, calling others silly and so on. Doesn't make you a better chess player, human being or a valuable community member at all, but it's not my problem
And now again for you, the problem is not the time control after starting the game. Not that hard to understand, isn't it?
