Indeed, my feature suggestion does violate an interface design principle, but a button suggesting, "If you play the right move you can claim a draw" breaks the rules of chess. Many players will play the 3fold move first and then attempt to claim a draw before their opponent moves, but hopefully some players think to try things in the reverse order for lack of anything better to try.

Also, Lichess has a profile setting for auto-claiming draws always, which also makes the draw claim feature superfluous.

Not really, because the auto-draw is a disadvantage when the position is winning.
We've given players a setting so they can do angle shooting at their own risk, or follow the above FIDE online chess regulations. Any better system would either complicate the UI or be unfair. There are no avoidable difficulties.

@ThiagoSSoler
See , usually a repetition occurs when a person dosent get future lines that are nice or needs to draw so there is no fault woth drawing games with wether repetition , multi perpetual checks or what so ever .but i respect your opinion .the thing you can do is that after he repeats you can either
1.otb
Call for the arbiter and note down the position .
2.online
there is chance you can accept the draw without loosing to time

That's not what he was asking about... see #1 for details and FIDE rule 9.2.a:
9.2 The game is drawn upon a correct claim by the player having the move, when the same position, for at least the third time (not necessarily by a repetition of moves):
a. is about to appear, if he first writes his move on his scoresheet and declares to the arbiter his intention to make this move
