no round robin tournaments on lichess

And here on Lichess, you can claim the win when your opponent has left the game! Why not in Round Robin?
@Toadofsky lichess.org/forum/lichess-feedback/no-round-robin-tournaments-on-lichess#5

" With a TD certification program, yes... but Lichess is acting as the TD...", What is a TD certification program and what means TD? I am no programmer and I am not familiar with such terms!

"someone will create a large RR and then blame Lichess when things go wrong...", Then the maximum number of participants must be limited! Let's say 15 participants!

The Swiss system is much more complex than Round Robin. In round robins, the pairings of the respective rounds are already fixed. I don't understand where the problem is! With the Swiss system, it works!
If round robins ain't possible, how is the "Play for Russia" event handled? They are playing round robins! @Toadofsky
@philipez Because these games have been played. And if the drop out player has won, he has won! You can't take those scores away from him again.
@odoaker2015 : but as far as i know most sport leagues do it this way.
-> because dropped out teams should have no effect on the outcome. the games itself (rating) will still have effect!
@philipez All I know is that it's done in chess. I don't know how other leagues handle it. But you can't take away a player's scores he's ever done. After all, he played until he left. And so far, no one has complained about it. Maybe I can find appropriate FIDE rules.
@philipez
I have now read that clubs can decide for themselves how to deal with players who have left the tournament. Usually there are tournament regulations in which you can specify such things. At least here in Germany. I don't think there are any mandatory rules on this. I couldn't find any. If one has any other information about this, please share it here!
I've actually played in an OTB RR where half of the players withdrew... waiting around for hours for an opponent is an unpleasant experience.
No Round Robin makes sense on Lichess, players who want to do a Round Robin tournament can also simply create a Swiss tournament with 1 round less than amount of players, don't see any difference here expect that you play the stronger players at first but since you play all of them anyways...
