Migration to new codebase

Right now I have to refresh manually to update the site. It didn't happen before recently.

can someone who has the websocket problem paste here the content of firefox or chrome debug console?

Or even better, join IRC #lichess channel on freenode so we can troubleshot it in realtime.
Thanks.

This probably was supposed to happen, but I was logged out of Lichess when I opened the tab back up. It didn't remember my login that time.

That's the closest thing to a login-related problem I have had on here. Everything else with the websockets etc. has been working fine for me.

Hi thibault,

http://www.funnode.com/chess

I get "Connected to Server".

http://www.websocket.org/echo.html

Upon pressing Connect button it gives me error that it couldn't connect. Then I selected checkbox "Use secure WebSocket (TLS)", it changes the URL from following:
"ws://echo.websocket.org"
to following:
"wss://echo.websocket.org"

With secure WebSockets, it connect and I am able to send message (and get echo).

Please try updating lichess.org's websockets from plain to secure. I think it will fix the websocket errors.

Since the people who are not getting any error won't feel a difference between insecure and secure websockets. But people like me who are getting websocket error, it might work.

Looking forward for the websocket error solution. Try the secure websockets (wss).

Thank you for your great work!

Okay anon, I'll try that.

Did it work for you before the migration (2 days ago)?

thibault,

Yes, lichess was working perfectly fine for me before migration started. I played many games here.

thibault, whether it is impossible to introduce the function automatic turning the pawn to a Queen? There are situations when running out of time is spent on the choice of shapes, precious seconds, and you lose time because of this

Anon: what if you try this url in the location input: ws://en.lichess.org:9004/lobby/socket?sri=d5cd6abofajor&version=9414

Also it would help if you join IRC #lichess channel on freenode server. I need to chat with someone affected by this issue for realtime troubleshooting. Thanks.

a member using I.E. had no problems yesterday after the migration but is now encountering this error message when trying to login of:

Your browser supports websockets but cannot get a connection.

Maybe you are behind a proxy that does not support websockets.

attempted to visit: ws://en.lichess.org:9004/lobby/socket?sri=d5cd6abofajor&version=9414 (leads to error message: the webpage cannot be displayed)

What's a freenode server? Is there an URL to visit and try "#lichess channel"?
