LiChess help files\instructions?

hi all, is there somewhere that explains all the features and options on lichess?
like a user manual?
Not really.
There are a few YouTube videos and articles that describe some of the features though.
Anyways, you can always ask for help here in the forum.
@Euph4life Should you be so inclined you can also watch under the hood - that is, see the code for yourself, and delve into the github repo for lila

A lot of the code may even be self-explanatory!
The moderators are here to explain every feature you want any explanation about.
You can also join NoJoke's 'Ask me Anything' he hosts on YouTube.
This is exactly the type of thing I was talking about when I recently said
>This thread is a perfect example and very symptomatic of the problem of the vacuum of an official reference or source of information about this website. I draw your attention to the fact that the only way someone can get answers to questions like these is by hunting through old forum threads, wading through all the useless posts, for an elusive and hard to find response that convincingly answers it. Or by asking and hoping for good luck that someone will link one for them. And that has yet to happen in this thread. Is this really the best we can do?

Lichess really needs a good source for information about Lichess. The FAQ is hardly adequate. It should be something like this one lichess.fandom.com/wiki/Lichess_Wiki
But that website is pretty bad. Someone needs to do something like wikipedia for lichess. I'd do it myself if I had the time :(
thanks for your responses, im surprised that there isn't a user manual tbh, as there are probably lots of things we can do here that we simply don't know about! I love the site, and I love playing here, but maybe this is something that could happen in the future?
1) a full list of all features and functions and how to use them?
2) a full list of all variants available and the rules for each?
3) a tutorial on how to customise the interface to your own liking? etc etc
As #5 mentioned one issue is with the forums being flooded with spam/low quality content/duplicate threads/etc.

Maybe an idea could be to automatically prune threads after, let's say 30 days unless they are "marked for quality" by mods or via some other clever mechanism.

So the userbase gets to keep posting whatever to their heart's content, and the forums remain useful. Win win.

What do y'all think?
