how to set the game so that only real players come and not bots?

@sheckley666 said in #11:

So you think, lichess uses secret bot accounts but is dumb enough to give these bots names with many digits?
And I didn't make them either. Go look at the names of the bots that have been tagged and displayed publicly, there are plenty of them with roughly similar names.
I don't know about you, what your chess experience is, but mine is quite enough to be able to recognize the difference between the game of humans and machine. These bots are not all strong, there are all kinds. But the very fact that you come to the site to play with people, you get to know people. and the fact that you play against bots is devastating. I think it's interesting to play against bots, I can turn on my program and play all day long.

There are no bots on lichess, except for those which are clearly tagged with a big purple BOT tag. Everyone else is a human player. Then sure, some humans cheat by using bots but they aren't.

The only way to play a BOT account is to challenge it directly from its profile. There is no queue or pool on Lichess that allows you to be paired with a BOT account.

90% or more of the BOT accounts you see are programmed by normal users who are not affiliated with Lichess in any way. It seems then very normal to find weird usernames like those you mentioned if the creators of these BOTs are the same players.

Btw, two of our moderators have these usernames: halifax2345678, Zebra9876543210 (https://lichess.org/thanks). According to your reasoning these two are bots. Well they aren't. Halifax is a mod on discord if you wanna verify it's a human with a face and a story. Zebra is the public account of an anon mod.

You are reporting accounts with the accusation of being bots when they are not. We would appreciate if you stopped sending reports that are wrong in principle.

If you instead want to report these players for cheating you have to use "cheat" and not "other" in the report page.
