In the last few days I kept getting this error when I start a new game or refresh the page while I am on a game.
Only on lichess it happens in the latest Chrome version without any extensions installed.
What shady stuff are you doing?

A better question might be...what are you up to?

Not sure when does that error arises. I hope a mod/dev can help the OP.

You can see the proof here: https://imgur.com/a/75ybjY1
It still happens every time I finish a game and I click on "rematch" to move to a new game with the same player. Sometimes happens when I click on "new game".

From the screenshot you shared, it looks like you're using Brave browser and not Google Chrome. You may wish to update Brave to its latest version or use any browser in this list (https://github.com/lichess-org/lila#supported-browsers) to check if this issue keeps recurring. You could also try disabling extensions - in some cases they may be causing this issue.

I ise Brave, too. I seem to remember that I had some issues with lichess analysis that I solved by removing the shields for the site (it's ad free anyway) and also setting an experimental flag, but I don't remember which

My bad I said Chrome. It's indeed Brave but behind the scenes is "Chromium". Same as Chrome from what I know.

I already have the latest Brave version and no extensions installed.
Also, I am using Lichess on Brave for more than 5 years now and this problem just started to happen. So I don't think it's the browser's fault. Also I repeat it only happens in Lichess, so the website must be doing something shady with the memory.
@WorthwhileConquest28 thanks for the link to supported browsers. I checked it and by definition Brave should be supported being Chromium based.

Dear (apparently useless and careless) developers can you please fix this bug?
It's super annoying
Thanks!

It's working for me in the latest version of Brave on Linux Mint 21. (If this info helps diagnosing the cause)

Yeah you useless Lichess devs! Fix this bug that is clearly a client-side issue in his non-free browser! What? Of course he won't pay you! Hurry up!
