draw auto-accepted

  1. Opponent offers a draw in a position with mating material
  2. I run out of time on that same move without responding to the offer
  3. Chat log says "Draw offer accepted" and the game is scored as a draw

I'm pretty sure this scenario should be scored as a loss for me under the rules of chess.

I mean your opponent indeed has mating material. However, since you have overstepped your material is relevant,

Clearly there is a glitch. on move 36 your opponents' time switches to almost 3 minutes!

Why did White offer a draw in this position? If White had run out of time it would have been a draw anyway.

(I was black in this game)
White thought it was funny (?) to add a lot of time to my clock in a winning position.
I cooperated and let him enjoy his winning position for as long as he wished.
White got tired of waiting (?) and offered a draw.
I was intent on letting my opponent enjoy every second of it and did not respond to the draw offer.

All this is not really relevant though.
The question is: why does lichess seemingly auto-accept the draw offer when my clock runs out?

Black cannot checkmate by any series of legal moves, so a draw it is.

@tpr irrelevant: black ran out of time, and white did have sufficient material to mate
