Counting voice from 10 to 0 secs instead of a warning sound

When we have 10 seconds left in our game, we get a warning sound which lets us know we have 10 seconds, but after that there are no more warnings about our time...

This is huge issue for me (and I hope many other people), cause I often lose on time cause I believe I have enough time and then suddenly I have 0 seconds... this really upsets me :( (btw I'm playing bullet games mostly and so I have to focus a lot on my game even when having just few seconds and so time just disappears even though I think I have enough of it)

Therefore, I believe if there is a counting voice (just like when you join a tournament and then 10 secs before tournament starts, you hear a voice counting from 10 to 0 secs) that is counting from 10 to 0 secs, that this would be really amazing cause then we can always hear (and therefore know) exactly how many seconds we have left instead of having to guess how many seconds we might have...

So, what do u guys think about that...?
Do you also often lose on time because you think you have enough and yet you find yourself having 0 secs?
After enough life experience, most people acquire a feel for time.

On the other hand, putting people under time stress with a constant reminder is often a cue for people to act faster (often leading to mistakes).

Interpretation of time is subjective to each of us. But, in a broader sense, your sense of time could easily be adjusted by saying to yourself: 9-1000, 8-1000, 7-1000, 6-1000 ... and putting yourself under the same stress you suggest others should deal with (instead of imposing your suggestion / will / wishes upon others).

Most people are simply thankful for the reminder. I'd suggest that you should be, too, and accommodate your own whims and wants and needs accordingly, but, I'm sure that you could consider my remarks subjectively wrong, too (according to your whims, wants and needs).

So, write your own browser plugin, such that when you receive a 10-second ding from LiChess, it starts counting-down for you. Better yet, extend it to everything online: "You have T-minus 60 seconds until your application session times-out. T-minus 55, 54, 53, 52, 51, ..."

I lose on time when I'm slow to move or think too much. That's the point of having a timer. The bells and whistles (such as a 10-second warning) are optional. It's also visual. It's not that big a deal.

On the other hand, despite the rules and time controls, some people like to whine and complain about there being stated, specified and designated time-controls. "Oh, well, because this user sat on his-or-her-hands instead of moving or resigning in a losing position, we should change the rules to require an arbitrary forfeit." -- But what if you walk away and let your game time-out, or what if the other user finds a way that you haven't seen? -- See? Your attempt at subjective interpretation of how things work can be negated with logic to the contrary.

(Over and over again, we go over the same concept, and people don't get it. And when you encounter someone counting-down 10, 9, 8, 7 ... for you ... after encountering that experience, come back and tell us if it is more or less stressful, overall, and then run a study on how most people respond under such circumstances and report the results. If it increases play productivity, it might be implemented. But, otherwise, I'll go with my gut-instinct, experience, and education and say: "No, grow-up, think about what you're saying and proposing from an objective standpoint.")
lol, it's very simple - and I already suggested it... Lichess might add 2 options in their settings (counting voice and sound warning) and then everyone chooses whatever they wish).

We are all individuals and what is best for someone might not be best for someone else, that's why there should be 2 options so that everyone can choose what suits them best.

And I can't be telling myself "9-1000, 8-1000, 7-1000, 6-1000" etc cause I have to focus on my game and I don't have time to count like that nor I have time to constantly watch on my clock to see how many seconds I have left...

Also, if I know how to make a browser plugin that counts from 10 to 0, I would have already made it...

And of course that I'm thankful for a reminder but that doesn't mean we should just be thankful for things and not wanna improve them ever...
I'm thankful for it but I would like counting voice aswell

And it doesn't matter whether counting is stressful for someone or not if there are 2 options to choose (those for whom this is stressful will choose "warning sound", and the other ones will choose "counting voice")
I love your idea man, I'm surprised nobody supported you yet, like wtf guys... do you seriously not like his idea or what?! :D

I also believe there'll be so much less stress when you can just hear a voice counting instead of having to panickly be looking at your clock and then your board and then throw pieces all over the board cause this multitasking is just too much for you so you can't handle it properly... :/

I think counting voice would reduce this multitasking stress to a minimum and hearing a voice counting would also be like having some sci-fi experience (just like when you hear some robot counting from 10 to 0 in some sci-fi movies... so cool don't you think?!)
I'd really like that... it's so much more modern then just having some warning sound if you ask me heheh :D

And this way when we hear we have 2 or 3 seconds then we can just start throwing our pieces, untill then we can play just fine and more relaxed.
That's my opinion at least... what's yours?
Well the countdown seems like it makes you nervous because someone counting down usually makes you nervous
Listening to the count-down for a rocket launch DOES NOT make me nervous.

Watching (or listening, or paying attention to) the count-down for a work-related task (deadline, such as in game play) does make me nervous.

I don't like the idea. If implemented, there should be an option to turn it off rather than shoving it down all users' throats. (So long as it is implemented with a client-side option in user settings, I have no objections.)
By the way, does anyone know javascript? I'm starting to learn it and it's very very difficult. This countdown seems very easy to code. Just to make 10 sounds and to play it every time clock passes a whole number.
