I wish there was a feature like that. As it is now you get once a sound notification when time is low but when you play with increment i.e. 3+2 you loose the sense of time because of these 2 secs added in each move. You can spend 1 minute on the last 10 secs before flag and you loose the sense of how far is the flag. Only option option is to look at the time but that's very inconvenient in situations like that. That's why I believe a voice countdown would be great.
just keep paying attention to your clock, we're lucky to have anything at all to tell us we are low because in a real game we got nothing. You just have to look.
some of us dont have the mental fortitude to play real games so online is all we have..
If this gets implemented (not a bad idea!), please provide a way to disable it via Preferences.

The comparison with OTB is unfortunate in my humble opinion. For example there is no premove OTB but almost everybody is using it online.

The chess client Raptor has this countdown and it's a lifesaver.
(No, it's not like OTB, but internet chess generally isn't anyway — aerial view of the board, auto clock switch, no need to write down moves, premove etc.)
Give it a disable switch in Preferences, and everyone's happy.
