Challenge to a game feature

I think this would be awesome to implement. Also, I remember coming across a list of features that are intended to be implemented. Where is that list? Thank you.

Hm...I thought there used to be an integration of the to-do page.

Well there is definitely a list on the repository on GitHub that anyone can see.

About challenge to a game, so far I've seen people use the "Inbox" feature at the top of the site you see, to send messages and give them a private link to the game.

That's what the "Play with a friend" button on the main site is for.

Otherwise the only formal challenge notification I remember is for rematches once a game is done with the same opponent.

That's why I think you should be able to challenge somebody to a game wherever you can see their name.

All "Play with a friend" does is create a private game nobody knows the URL to.

You have to find someone to give them the link in order for them to join.

So as far as I know it's basically the same thing in effect.

It takes longer and it's more frustrating than it has to be to challenge somebody to a game. That's why having a feature for tasks on a simplistic website (and a feature in this specific case) is
useful - to make things more convenient.

Either you contact somebody and tell them you're game, or you get the developers to add in a little button for you that you can click to contact them for you.

Either way, the end result and the amount of work you have to put in remains exactly the same.

Unless what you're suggesting is a feature that forcefully puts your opponent in a game with you and doesn't give them the option of declining your invitation, which is simply unfair.

The button wouldn't be there so you can "click to contact for you."

It could bring up a little notification for the person you're challenging, right?

I mean, it wouldn't be a window or pop-up in the centre of the screen or anything, because that would get annoying. I'm imaging something like a button that appears off to the side of the already
existing interface, like where the chat is or where the 3 buttons are.

It's a notification either way, whether it's an inbox notification you've messaged someone to click your link if they accept your game, or if what you suggest here was implemented...though I guess the
difference you are proposing is an instantaneous notification somewhere on the screen, no matter what page the user is currently on?

So that they don't have to refresh the page or go to the main site to see the challenge notification?
