Anonymous Pairing Pool Be Like

Lichess: You get black
Me: plays game

Lichess: You get white
Opponent:...............
Lichess: Too many requests. Try again later.

Later

Me: Lichess, I want an anonymous game where I'm white.
Lichess:....................... two days later.......................

Seriously, do better on color balance. I counted yesterday and I got assigned black 8/10 games at one point.

Your account has played 43 games from the lichess pool. Of those, 21 have been as White, and 22 have been as Black.

That's because you abort all your Black games, so Lichess has to give you more Black games to compensate. Just play your games. If you really hate playing Black so much, then you need to work on your Black openings.

Crooks shouldn't be griping about stuff. ;)

It's not about a day or so, but about total games played till now. It averages on that basis.

@AsDaGo said in #3: If you don't have specific knowledge of the algorithms, perhaps you shouldn't comment. I regularly play both, and you can see from my rating that I'm not some beginner who just wants to play white. When I'm in the anonymous pool to test openings for both colors, I draw black with a much higher frequency. Your questioning of my claim without basis isn't needed. Thanks though.

If you're trying to test openings, I would recommend creating a second account to do that. To my knowledge, that is permissible by the Lichess rules (or I've at least seen forums where mods have approved it), and a better way to test openings you're learning. Playing anonymously doesn't guarantee that you'll find a player of your caliber, and you'll be able to save your games for further analysis on your progress. It will probably also solve your issue of playing one color more than the other as your account will balance out as you play more games.

@KenleyGalven you're too rude to be worth a reply, but still: there are the same rules in both the users' pool and the anonymous pool.

If you repeat aborting as black, you keep getting black, you're not getting your way. The system is not RNG-only.

Use the lobby to get a color of your choice.

Your complete game history is visible to all. Surely that's basis enough.
