Hey everyone! I'm trying to improve my chess and I am wondering if learning from a chess pdf would be just as good as learning from an actual chess book.

What's the difference?
Would asking a question in an online forum be just as good as asking a question to an actual person?

Of course! Although some people like hand held books better, (like with novels, e-books vs hard copies), it really doesn't matter.

PDF is much better if you make use of the computer's power if you can copy the text. Then you can have the computer read it to you. You remember things better if you see them AND hear them. Also there might be the ability to scrape positions to put on an analysis board and play out ideas programmatically. This would be a HUGE advantage. You could do it manually but because of the work involved you will end up doing it much more if it's easy to do.

Personally I prefer to purchase the book so that I dont feel like a thief, and then add it to my collection and read it when I finish whatever other book i am working on.
