With what rating does a GM on lichess start?

I had a look at carlsen's account and i saw he had 2500 rating rapid and classical with 0 games played. Do grandmasters start with 2500??

Because he is GM so lichess just add it

I don't know, but if they are too good they will get auto-rating climb???
Probably because he is good at bullet and blitz so he just get 2500 default

The point isn't weither it's a serious question or not. I just guess that no one here has an answer to this question.

They just work there way up to 2500 similarly to how I worked up to 1650+

So let's say you are seriously (well okay, semi-seriously) considering an attempt to coax the world champ into playing a slow game online. Would a further inducement be starting the guy out at 1500?

Maybe the very top GMs get started at 2500. But at the start of a titled arena its not uncommon to find some 1500? players, especially if it's a variant titled arena.
