I think because in chess.com there are more things to do and in lichess there are less.

Chess.com is a for-profit business that tries to make as much money as possible, and therefore charges its customers as much as it thinks it can. Lichess is a not-for-profit entity, and is fully funded by voluntary donations.
it's all about the money... when you sell out like chess.com you priorities are how to milk money out of chess players...
lichess is a pure love for the game. That's why i looove when someone i meet in person tells me that they play also on lichess.com
that tells me that they don't fall for the tricks and get all caught up in chess.com frenzy...
Can you be more specific, what are the 'more things to do' that you enjoy? Just curious.
For me, the combination of lichess and chessbase is enough (and free). Other sites might have additional features but I wouldn't have the time anyway to use them fully.
Well, we don't "need" to pay chess dot com.
Less is more. Lichess is light with a clean interface without fancy features to capture a paid audience. And with useful tools. A serious site for serious players.

chesscom is a company, which employs people, they are based on a capitalist system, quite close to the pay2win of certain video games.
I don't agree when you say that there are more things on chesscom, since on Lichess, you have unlimited puzzles for free, 3 different types of tournament formats, a much easier to access blog section and usage, and teams are more active and popular on Lichess than on chesscom.
here there is a free video library, analysis is provided to you free of charge for any game and there is a very extensive database.
so can you detail it so I can know what Lichess is missing? I have the impression that there are the same number of features in both, but there is simply a site where you have to pay, and Lichess where everything is free and without adds
