Hi dear Lichess community.
I used to think that when I request a computer analysis I get a more precise result (exact rating?) compared to local evaluation. and I used to think the reason is the deeper (seeing more moves ahead) analysis (the exact number?) and also stronger computational power of Lichess servers compared to my computer. and those assumptions could explain the slight difference of those two methods of evaluation.
but I am starting to doubt those assumptions.
the puzzle that comes after could serve as good evidence:
https://lichess.org/training/121518
and this is the link to the related game:
https://lichess.org/8AxD0P4r/white#42
you can notice that the SERVER analysis could not find the answer to the puzzle, and strangely enough chooses black as the better side (-1 is the positional evaluation) and suggests 22. Ba2 as the best move for white, which is only the second best move according to the LOCAL evaluation! (the first suggested move of local evaluation IS the answer of the puzzle)
can anyone please explain this matter, and tell the rating of local and server analysis???
