Sounds like maybe he/she accidentally switched to antichess in the analysis board
The analysis system runs it's calculations on lichess servers. I genuinely don't see why they wouldn't (at least have an option) for running those calculations locally. It would be faster, save them money in server time, it just doesn't make sense.
@Xaiano If you are talking about the "computer analysis" functionality available in a study, I wouldn't call it bad, but I do have issues with the programming choices that were made.

web SF on lila runs locally automatically, clicking the computer analysis button runs it at a higher node count on fishnet
