What is the etiquette or protocol for when your opponent asks for a take back?

@CaptainAmerica3441 I let lower rated playesr have takebacks for training purposes, and I accept them for mouseslips and misclicks.

This topic is an evergreen.

Putting a piece en prise or missing a mate: These are mental blunders, blindness, you wish you knew your stuff. Mis-clicks and mouse-slips: These are motor blunders, blindness, you wish you knew your stuff. Allow to take back motor blunders, allow to take back every blunder.

Etiquette and protocol, simple solution: Either disable take backs and say sorry, I don't give take backs. Or grant them, if you have them enabled, thanks, you're welcome, any of them.
