What do you do if you feel like there is nothing that you can do during the middle game?

I'm often left with no moves I can find even though there are often playable moves in the middlegame. And when I'm stuck with "no moves", that's the point where I often pull myself into a losing position through a blunder. How do you avoid a "no moves left" situation like this? Or if you can't avoid it, how do you deal with it?

If you play the Bongcloud as your nickname suggest, then you should try finding a good square for your King, maybe?

Playing thematic Blitz games is the key. Stick to your openings, refine them and learn where the pieces belong to in middlegame and endgame, typical tactics motifs, the usual good and bad pieces etc.

I either look what my opponent wants to do and hinder him or improve a piece.
If none of that works i start playing for a pawnbreak.

I agree with @LiamCleryChess. if u have no idea, just try to improve ur position and look for a point-gaining exchange.

Think tactic, then activity then strategy. Bad or good, there is always something to do, whatever is your opening
