If you are better in short periods you are probably young^^
SargOn, I have always been better in long games. When young, it was a 500+ gap in my ratings. And now that I'm middle-aged, the gap is much smaller. With aging, I got better in fast games and worse now in long games. So perhaps aging is not a determinant factor.
My rating outside of bullet are around each other. It doesn’t matter how much time you give me, I’ll find the loss somehow. :D
"Probably". Well then, the reflexes become slower when getting old.
My reasons for having a lower bullet/blitz rating:
- In pattern recognition IQ tests, my results are much worse when there is time pressure
- I'm a terrible time manager. I tend to concentrate deeper and totally forget about the clock.
- My intuition seems limited, like I need solid evidence to make a good decision
Thus, I seem have a slow chess brain, that can't perform as well in bullet. And this is so hard to accept!
