Just as an update,I have been able to increase my max to 41 and my average to 34.4.
I find it helps me follow strong players when they are taking about variations.
I find it incredibly difficult to follow Caruana or Anand though, since they go through variations sooo quickly. That is just another level of feeling for the board i think.

So it's been 10 days and I increased my max from 41 to 43, and my average improved quite a bit from 34.4 to 38.3.

For what it's worth, everyone: flugsio has a local copy of lichess installed on his computer. Flugsio could just as well have run the hack on the site, but I guess he didn't want to throw off the records.

Not that I expect or want Thibault to bloat the code to add defences against that exploit. If anyone actually uses it, they are only cheating themselves.
