What I meant was that "helpful" on its own does not say much about the goal the opening should be helpful with. Two extreme examples of such goal could be e.g.

• I want to raise my lichess blitz rating quickly and without much effort.
• I want to learn to play good chess and focus on my long term development.
  IMHO it's obvious that between these two goals, the most "helpful" openings will be very different.

Of course, one's playing style and preferences for middlegame position types also play an important role for choosing an opening.

You don't have to ask me, just check which opening all grandmasters use; it must be the best one, right? Oh wait, different grandmasters use different openings and even the same grandmaster often uses different openings in different games? Weird...
