Also typically I think it should take you less than a year if you take it seriously.

No need to get IQ involved. Getting to 2000+ chess.com (2200 lichess) is quite easy to do, I did so myself in under 2 years (and I know others with similar or better progress). I think if you are truly passionate about that game and are willing to put in the hard work, you can do the same (assuming you start from 0).
Yeah I actually did an IQ test 2 years ago where it showed my IQ was 125 - 135, so I think it's irrelevant, but even when I put my hard work on chess for 3 to 4 years I still didn't see any good results

How many 10+5 rapid games have you played in the ~8 months since the httpscolon//lichessperioorg/tj3cf5u5 game? When was the last time you played a slower game?
Actually since I've been playing in chess.com, most of my games were 10+0, but around 30% of them were 15+10. I'm planning to shift to 30+20 after taking a short break from chess. I didn't play rapid as frequently as others, so 50 games per month compared to 450 games of blitz, so I'm planning to change the ratio.

wow, so many comments about this. the only advice that i can give is... just take a break for like 2 months and then play again.
btw play over the board with your friends or something if you want to

People lie about how they got where they're at and how long it took them. Even the commentators here claim to have reached something they didn't, or are not at that level anymore (kinda funny). Relax and enjoy the game, don't play it for the rating.

How many lichess or chess.com profiles can you find actually, where they started close to 0 (like maybe 700ish rated), and then in under 2 years are 2200+?

I can say with certainty that everyone who claims to hit 2200 in 2 years (starting from 0) is lying or greatly exaggerating, and a select few might just be prodigies. But, most likely they didn't really start out at 0, maybe they were already a strong beginner, or they've played chess for a while but only "seriously" studied for 2 years, etc.

It took Caruana and Nakamura almost 3 years to go from complete beginner (around 600 OTB rating) to 2000. Hans Niemann from 1200 to 2000 took over a year. Ray Robson almost 3 years from 100 rating. This is according to USCF tournament history of the best US chess players in the world right now. Took me almost 3 years from 1200 to 2000+, and I improved faster than most of my peers I've played with. And now you have everyone online claiming similar improvement in under 2 years.

Next time people spread these fantastic claims of fast improvement, all they need to do is leave a link to their profile where it shows the rating graph, nothing else said. No one ever does though for some reason.

I'm only person here who shows full chess progress?
you can clearly see when I started playing chess 3 years ago and when slowly improved in 3 years. in natural way without massive elo spikes
