I always like to play games to the end. It's true satisfactory when you get to win, but when you notice you're losing, you resign. If we remove resigning then all games must be played to the end, of course, unless they abandon it... but I've played several people who would just stall and wait until the timer ticks off before they resign last second. I'm sure this may sound bad to some of you, but let me know what you think. I'm curious... :)

Some people have to leave a game for an urgent matter.
Would you rather they resign instantly or close the tab and force you to wait a minute for you to claim your win?

Lichess mostly follows fide rules, which allow resigning at any time

I think many people would just play intentionally bad moves to get it over with and move on to the next game.

Thanks
I usually write from the 'never resign' perspective. However, I guess if you've gradually lost two pieces and the prospects are looking both inevitably bad AND boring, then maybe resign.

Interesting question; I have played several games lately where the opp resigns very early on 12 moves, now I would never stop resigning many games are hopeless and educational. I play down obvious losses because I don't know if they can play right or well etc.; learning process. I resign sometimes in blitz when I throw a piece away, it is a speed thing, and no use doing that it is bad form . Some resign I have gotten are players that can see ahead but move the wrong pieces rushing I guess they resign once a major advantage is accomplished which is okay here but maybe not too good in a real-life OTB .
What they should change here is not resign but abort; there should be a start button because any player may what to think a little and gather their thoughts before choosing one move or another at the start.
