Should I play variants?

It's your wish but I am saying. Some Variants may spoil your standard chess.

First it's chess variants, then it's drugs, beer, and rock and roll. Don't do it. You'll be sorry. I'm nut sure exactly why you'll be sorry but people tell me that I'm supposed to be sorry. I'm trying, but I like those things and I enjoy them without enjoying variants so I'm a genius.

@ChessFlagger If you want to improve, chess960, crazyhouse, and three-check are the most helpful variants, but standard chess is the best for improving at standard chess

If your playing for fun, variants are OK to play. But if your playing professionally, variants are bad as they can hurt your standard chess.

@Sourish_Kavale Not all variants are bad for you. Chess960 actually helps with improvement.
