paultomasi, while you make some points that are worth considering, your argument as a whole is undermined by your attitude. As a programmer yourself, you're probably more mindful than most about how much work Ornicar puts into this site (and often addressing feature requests in consultation with the users) and community while seeking no monetary reward. You have no basis for calling him 'arrogant' or suggesting he has to in any way 'redeem' himself. His programming or design prowess can hardly be berated as he is regularly complimented for it on these forums.

Your personal attacks aside, I will now address some the points that were weaved throughout your attacks. The cognitive load which an interface imposes on a user is of course an important measurement (where a glance might be the ideal like you said.) However, a 'high load' is hardly an inherent feature of the new design - you might have suggested, for example, that the games be ordered in some way. Were this the case, the increased space allowed by the interface - and the extra dimension might even decrease 'searching load.'

Your post also seems to alludes to a traditional 'consumer / producer' relationship and is wary of changing things that users are already comfortable with, and warns with 'meddling with code.' It's worth remembering that while the website is remarkably robust, popular, cleanly designed and feature rich it has always had a 'playful', 'evolving' and creative side that in some ways is permitted by the lack of 'customer model' you make reference to. The site itself is built on new technologies that might be risky for traditional 'services', for example. While the site is home to a large community and audience, it is also a side project and creative outlet for ornicar (or at least, so it seems to me.) With these considerations, bold changes should be encouraged and are welcomed!
