But both players should make clear where the piece stands before making the next move. If it is your piece, adjust it before pressing the clock. If it's a move by the opponent, ask them to do so, or ask and adjust yourself ("jadoube"). If it happens often or you are very low on time, just stop the clock and call the arbiter.
