It takes one move to advance two squares
and three moves to advance one square
Since the numbers are even or odd,
8minus1= 7÷2
It takes three moves to reach any square with an error
accuracy of (0,1) that is brackets 0 mistakes, goal has been reached or one square of distance
It is therefore
Formula= 3 + (0,1)

Being 1 an odd number for the knight that requires three moves.
However u pick half the board, u need something for advanced like diagonals, just lazy thoughts.

Two moves from the corner to the center of the board.

Two moves from the corner to the center of the board.

It takes only 0,1 or 2 moves to reach the center of the board,
learning
then it can take 0,2 or 3 to switch the square in the center.
So u have an amateur formula of
(0,1,2) + (0,2,3) + (0,1,2)
Being that formula quite simple but not too strong.
Which is two moves to the center then swittching the center
(e4,d4,e5,d5) and then from center to the square which it takes at most two moves.
I never had time or the skill to understand the knight path or maneuver but this simple shortcut, I like it, enjoy it to play games
Reach the center, switch the center and leave the center.
