I just achieved 2500 in puzzles/tactics. Now, I am aware that it is technically legal to use an engine for puzzles and therefore many people may be way overrated, but I am curious as to where I stand in the Lichess rankings. I assume that Lichess only stores puzzle rating per person and does not keep a leaderboard of any sort (since there is none accessible to players), so I am more interested in hearing about players who are higher ranked than me. I am really surprised that I could get this high since I am in the 1700s/1800s in classical/rapid/blitz/bullet. Also, how high do these puzzles get rated?

Actually, I don't think it's legal to use an engine even for puzzles. I have the same questions though, I'm rated quite low in bullet/blitz, but my tactics rating is above 2100. Then again, I guess some of the puzzles are overrated and that seems to be the main reason. For example, look at this puzzle I've just solved: https://lichess.org/training/61169 Does it really deserve to be so high rated?

@VulcanForge , if you use Stockfish , your puzzle rating should be approx 3400-3600, (my guess).
Puzzle is just for training, no one is interested in cheating in training (that is why technically they dont check for cheating in training)
In term of rating, I am around 2200-2300 bullet/blitz, and my puzzle rating is also 2200-2300.

There are no time constraints, so the things you miss in quick play are less likely to be overlooked in puzzles. There is also an advantage in knowing that the position being presented to you contains a sequence that changes the balance of power.

This puzzle rating is very strange. It's hugely inflated too. I was able to go over 2000 in puzzles but in games I often lose to guys who have 1500 puzzle score. But the strongest are usually players who don't have puzzle rating at all!
