Puzzle / Real rating discrepancy

I've been a REALLY terrible player starting on this site with under 1000 rating points and climbing to still mediocre 1300-1400 points. So naturally I was anxious to play real players and mostly played (~1700) puzzles up to a rating of over 1900 now. With that I felt confident to be a bit better in real games (and in the new u1600 tourneys), although the opposite is the case. In https://en.lichess.org/tournament/EF2szDaW I fuck up possibly everything, still oversee the simplest checkmates and blunder my way to a 50 point loss.

Many say that tactics (and tactic trainers) are good for bad players, so does the lichess trainer help you in your actual gameplay? Or am I retarded and not retaining the abilities I imagine to have?

Tactics trainers in general are great fro lower-rated players especially. I just think that you are getting frustrated because you are not seeing immediate results. Everything takes time. Keep practicing. Soon you will see improvement. Also, I would try out other tactics trainer sites such as chesstempo.com

You might be able to execute tactics but you may not be able to set up a position where tactics would be available to you.

'Tactics flow from a superior position'. The superior position will arise from good homes for your pieces, compact pawn structure, space, open lines, and overall accurate opening and middle-game play. This is why beginners are first taught the opening principles (development, center control etc).

It's either that, or you crack under the pressure of tournaments. There's something called match anxiety, where you feel like your practice is going perfect, but when you actually do the real thing, you fail miserably. In this case, I would recommend playing more and more real games, with long time controls. Eventually, you're gonna get used to the pressure.

Best Of Luck!

Perhaps you need time to figure out tactics and you play with not enough time control in your games. And I think the tactics are not enough because you need to avoid mistakes in openings and in position where there are no tactics to find. Also it is hard in a real game because you don't know whether there is a winning tactics in a given position.

I think for a good portion of people,
the training rating would be 100-200 lower than their blitz/standard.

But looking at the posters here not so the case lol.
Also thinking time might affect it.

No, you are actually a lot smarter than me, i can't get over 1300 rating in the tactics puzzle and i spend 1 hour per tactic. I'm not smart enough to improve beyond 1300, even doing tactics for 4 hours per day to the point i have a headache.

My rating is inflated here, lichess should decrease my rating by 1200 points. And the only way i can win a match is by being lucky and that my opponent blunders (sometimes i loose even if my opponent blunder) My real life rating is less than 700.

I can't give you advice since you are a lot smarter than me by being 1900 in the tactis trainer, but it's all about genes. No matter how hard i work i will always be a below 700 rated player, considered retarded by the chess community.

Chess is linked with IQ.
I have a 48 IQ , i did the test the other day, what's your IQ?
By the official IQ page i am: mental defficient, retarded, imbecile, borderline, deffective, Definite feeble-mindedness.

Intelligence itself is not being. I already wrote about it here. At some level puzzles refer you to the art of chess composition. An understanding of the nuances of a particular position, and there can be specifically incorporated many false solutions...
