Positional or Tactical player

Umm..according to the opening you prescribed about how you most of the play d4 and sac the pawn like a gambit or something..
I think you are tactical player....if i am not wrong,...

Seems so. I have noticed several players on the internet saying that their GM coaches made them play gambits so as to understand different kind of advantages in chess (not just material advantage). like piece activity, safe king, space advantage, etc. Idk if that strategy is a good strategy to train new players. Nevertheless, i just copied their strategy and went gambit mode for almost all the openings. I still play the caro kann because i feel that if i am forced in a situation where i need to make a sequence of positional moves i should be able to. And also I understand caro kann positions and pawn structures better than other black openings against 1.e4. I could make it all gambits by playing the portugese gambit but i dont want to give my opponents a chance to latch on to a weakness that i created: having no clue about good positional moves and plans and how to stop my opponents from improving their position. Or who knows? some folks say opening doesnt matter?
