Hey everyone,
I worked for about 10 hours to get a deeper understanding of the 2 Knights Italian: Polerio (1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bc4 Nf6 4. Ng5 etc.), because I find it fascinating and haven't found any good book on it.
However the opening is so rich and complex and full of engine lines, that I would much appreciate your help in simplifying those lines into concepts, adding some I might have missed and giving me feedback about the ones I figured out so far. I think together we might achieve more than just me on my own. If you don't want to look into my study via my profile, general (constructive! not cynical) advice, games you like etc. on this opening are welcome aswell.
Thanks!

Hello!I'm afraid it's not so easy to simplify lines of this variant into concepts because in a number of lines specific knowledge is needed. Otherwise, you can quickly get into trouble.
By the way, since you're PolerioExpert, didn't you work on Polerio Gambit, for example?

@Falcon42 Thanks for your reply:
You might be right that it will be hard to find simple solutions in this complex opening - at least I would like to shorten the lines, like I managed to do in the Ulvestad and Fritz, because nobody can memorize 20 moves per line. Any ideas?
What do you mean with the Polerio Gambit? Do you mean b5 Ulvestad Gambit? If yes, I already did that.

@PolerioExpert And for what side to play are you learning this variant?You want to play Two Knights Defence for Black and learn this variant as it's neccesary to know how to deal with it or you play this variant against 2KD?
Polerio Gambit is a line in King's Gambit.You may know it as Muzio Gambit.
Notation:
1.e4 e5
2.f4 ef
3.Nf3 g5
4.Bc4 g4
5.0-0

@Falcon42
I am learning it for white. As long as I live I want to give my opponent the opportunity to go into the Fried liver ;D That is why I now need to learn the other variations aswell. I faced the Ulvestad b5 Nd4 variation OTB and got crushed, which is why I need to be better prepared. Ah yeah, I know the Muzio Gambit, but that's a completely different opening it seems, I meant 2K Polerio :)

@PolerioExpert
By the way, Fried liver isn't the best way to use Nd5?
What about Lolli Attack?

@Falcon42 irrelevant as nobody plays Nxd5 anyways

Yeah, this move is actually rarely played cause it's well known that it's a mistake but I answered to this:
"As long as I live I want to give my opponent the opportunity to go into the Fried liver".
