Not getting rating point more than 7-8 points

Hello,

I see that I have been playing many higher rated players than me and even the rating difference has been more than 200 points. Why is it that they lose maybe about 20-30 points and I get only 6-7 points.

A parameter called "Rating Deviation", RD - a value that says something about the stability of your rating.
The more games you play, the lower your RD will get. Lower Rating deviation -> fewer points gained or lost.
In times of inactivity, RD goes up again. So for example, after a long Lichess break, you'll see bigger swings again.

The rating system is quite accurate. For chess players who had play a lot of games, their rating increase normally like 10 points. For new players, their rating increase a lot like 250 points when they win. Hope this helps.
