Remove the takeback option altogether.
There is no need for it. If you really feel like there was a clear slip and feel bad for your opponent, offer a draw and move on.
Also, never add seconds.

Under "Takebacks (with opponent approval)"
I chose "never", but it is useless. Only MY takeback button turns to grey that I cant click it, while my opponents can still send me the takeback request.
I dont know why.

Wait, are takeback requests even possible during rated games? I don't know 'cause I disabled the option immediately, but it's kinda messed up if so. It degrades the game itself, and is a source of disagreements about good behaviour, or posts like this one, people feeling bad for no reason.
Let people just be responsible for their own moves and leave it at that. Mouseslip? Take the loss and be more careful next time. If you're a recovering alcoholic and your hand is shaking too much to play fast, don't play bullet.

My opponent requested to take back a move. I missed the request until after I made my move. I feel bad, because I would have agreed. But I didn’t know the feature existed or how to allow the request. I couldn’t find in the FAQ.
Any sage advice?
Thanks
You can't do a take back in tournaments.
