move stats in Lichess

I have seen recently many statements such as "this move has been played x times in Lichess". Anyone know how to get such statistics?

On analysis board create position whether move 3 move 9 move 12 you can select settings for Lichess database instead of masters. Change setting to the 3 ratings around yours.
If 1000 select rating above and below with it for broader search.

It will show you % of time certain moves are played so you can prepare against what you are most likely to see.

Many people try to prepare for mainline but under 1400 that goes out the window on move 4 most of the time. While developing calculation skills it can help to strategize your training against what you actually will play against instead of what super GMs play.

The good news is if they greatly deviate from mainline they are probably positionaly compromised so you can get an advantage quickly by creating your sidelines from engine suggestions. You might not have a clue why the engine likes this or that but in 24 moves it makes sense sometimes lol.

But don't be afraid to play 2nd or 3rd engine suggestion if it is solid and makes more sense to you. Bc you will remember it easier and understand why.
