Little people? You're using little people now to prove a point, disgusting, your depths , like I said you either know or you dont. Kids should be on kid mode. The sooner kids know the better. The devil don't care how old you are, it will try collect you at any age , the struggle is real , people, and keeping your sense of humour through it all is very important . Those who like trash talking should not be too sensitive themselves.
it isn't mods that makes chat useless.
Chatting is useless by itself.
You don't know anything about the other person, so all you could say are meaningless general things.
You even don't know if you would be talking to a child from India or a grandmother in Alaska .
And even these general niceties don't work well :
"Have a nice game"; and then at the end, when they lost ,nothing follows . That's worse, than nothing said.
You,as winner ,you can't say : "yes, I had a nice game, thank you.", can you?
Or something more in your street: 'shit, I really made a bad move'. Followed by : 'yes, that was really stupid'. Or : well, it happens to all of us. Your next game will go better. .......Or not'
Chessplayers are chatting all the time....with chess pieces . It doesn't matter then if it is a child or a grandmother. We all speak the same language.

I think this is the crux of the difference. Some people are here for serious tournament-like chess, many other of us are here for casual fun. One school of thought is comfortable playing in a park with laughing and maybe a little lighthearted trash taking. The other school is more comfortable in an international chess tournament, silent, wearing suit and ties. The mods are biased towards the serious side.

that's exactly where you are, in my view , missing the point. In a park, in real life, you see the other person, you know who you are talking to. Even before the first word you've got, unconsciously, a lot of information , which is totally missing onscreen. So either
you write something meaningless, either you are at risk of writing something, more or less, inappropriate, which I guess, since you've got warnings, is exactly what you have been doing.
Some people, probably many, would prefer to play in silence. In real life you would "see" that instantly. On screen you have been annoying people and you still don't know it.
