Losing rating points is easier than gaining them??

I know I'm a moaning mini but I really feel there is a disparity between easily going down the rating system than there is in gaining. I know I lose a lot but it's just such a struggle to gain points and so easy to lose them .it might just be my psych .but feel it would be more encouraging if it was slightly more balanced . Just gain a little easier so it didn't feel so discouraging xxx it's like a losing battle all the time lol xxx

I agree, but in the sense that the effort (or time) it takes to win points in tournament is a bit skewed.

For me most players I'll face will be lower rated and will basically gives me little or no points for a win which means that most of my time is lost just for maintaining a rating.

Now before you say it's normal and elo should account for that, it does it's just extremely frustrating: there are times I know I'm better (for instance by reaching +200 points on another account and keeping that for a long time) and yet those changes are not necessarily translated here because like I said a lot of time is used just to maintain a certain rating.

@SchizoSi You have a good rating. It's easy for you to gain rating, as long as you win against opponents with similar or higher rating. And yes, you might lose a lot of rating, but it's because you deserved it for losing. But overall, I think the rating system is all good for you. Just win more, and you won't be complaining about this anymore.

But that's just my opinion. Ignore it if you don't like what I said.

I'm not even really complaining as I know that's my rating it just seems more difficult to gain points than lose points, I still feel that there is a disparity between losing and gaining.xxx
