It's weird isn't it? Lichess is open source but there is only one main Lichess server. Nobody has felt like they could host the server with open source code themselves.
I have a server and a community. Lets do this!
This is a good thing because load balancing is an issue. I remember FICS had AFICS, EFICS as well FICS main server.
Don't shoot me down as I am not try to overtake Lichess or replace it.

let me stop you right there. it's definitely not "nobody". for example there's: https://playstrategy.org/ and https://live.chess-online.com/ and these are by no means the only ones.

nobody is going to shoot you down, friend. anyone is free to create a fork, if you think it's worth your time.
edit: in fact on the lichess discord there's a channel where friendly lichess people will help you set your own server up. "nobody", smh.
Seeing your recent threads regarding Lichess, I am sure you are fed up of Lichess and would make a new server.

@Akbar2thegreat why do you always have to attack me for post my views on Lichess. Even staff of chess.com have accounts on Lichess and doesn't mean they want Lichess gone.
I wondered if anyone wanted to set up their own clone of Lichess, of course Lichess will always be the main server. It doesn't mean I want to replace it. Please stop the personal attacks and besmirching my reputation by implicit digs.
But your previous posts are all against Lichess in some way.
