I'm quite curious and I want to know what the majority of Lichess thinks. Do you prefer playing on a 2d or 3d board on Lichess? Why?

I personally like 3d better because it feels more realistic, and has really beautiful sets.

Diehard 3D since i got nearly lost with a real board. And I like the pieces. Not so much the board, wich has a scar-like diagonal texture I am into fixing.

the 3d options on chess.com are better than the lichess 3d
for lichess 2d for chess.com 3d so... i guess it depends on the server

Lichess's 3d uses 2d board and "3d" perspective for pieces, but like a picture, which still is 2d.
I remember encountering an app with 3d board but that probably would be too heavy to load. Even Lichess's 3d pieces take some time to load for me.

I prefer 2D. I tried 3D and it looks so weird. It took me about 3 seconds to realize that I was in check with 3D when it takes less than a second for me in 2D!
