The bug is a feature. Here's the reason:

1. Thibault turns coffee into bugs
2. By relation of kibitzer on chessgames.com being forums having a coffee logo, we can say that lichess's forums are also a place where you can relax and have coffee.
3. Since Lance5500 is so famous, a lot of people upvote him and therefore, even if Lance5500 spends very little time in a coffee place, a lot of coffee-holding people come and therefore, since coffee is turned into bugs by Thibault, Lance5500 gets a lot of bugs.
4. Since Lance5500 is famous and is deserving of only the friendly bugs that help him, only the bad bugs are removed. The good bugs stay and become features.
