Is there any way of combining ChatGPT with AlphaZero?

AlphaZero can play chess, ChatGPT can talk about it.

Unfortunately AlphaZero can't talk and ChatGPT can't play chess.

There is a chess plugin for ChatGPT with GPT4. You can play a game (via text), and have it narrate the game. It's not great though, as it's kinda slow and text input is annoying. But combining a chess engine/AI and a large language model in a more convenient manner probably isn't too hard. You can have the AI beat you on the board, and smack talk you at the same time.

small problem is that A0 does not anymore exist. So combining the two is no possible.

Does it play good chess like stockfish 8 for example? how good is it? is it able to play? Is it able to comment moves or explain them? chatgpt without plugin told me it isnt able to evaluate nor visualize positions at all. Where do I find this plugin? I want to try it out.

I don't need a trashtalker, but someone who tells me the evaluation of the chess engine in words. There are projects like this, but they are very expensive and also the explanations function with visuals, not text, which is what I want to. If it was so easy then why doesn't it exist? Obviously a lot of people want it. So far I have heard that chess programs or AIs arent able to explain their decisions and that is why it doesn't exist. But at least I'd like chatgpt to tell me whether the last move was good or bad.

It has several levels, from 1350 to 2850. I'm assuming it uses Stockfish, or some other engine for its moves. I think plugins are currently only available to ChatGPT Plus subscribers and beta testers. The subscription is kind of pricey though.

Chess AI are not capable of explaining their moves. Getting the evaluation of a position is pretty easy, so the trash talking would be easily achieved. But to get the evaluation in words would be something else. Certainly not something a language model could do out of the box (not accurately, and consistently at least).

I might ask it to play a game, and evaluate as we go along. Then I could upload it, and you could see for yourself how good/bad it is.

I think what you want is at least reasonably possible without AI (i.e., with traditional methods). For example, the evaluation function in a chess program has many components, like space, king safety, ..., so the program can easily just say a few things about a position and about a few variations. That is not hard, and doesn't need AI. I guess it is not available simply because people are not very interested in making it. If companies like chessbase or chessable see business opportunity it it, they will do it.

Traditional chess engine is AI. not all AI is machine learning let alone deep neural networks. One first trials on AI was chess playing programs.

and chat GTP would produce some semisensical story out of any position as it has enough chess related chat fed in during training phase. whether that would offer any benefit at all is another issue

Yes please. I don't want to buy anything and then be dissapointed that it doesn't work. Could you do it rn?

Yes that would already be great! This way I could analyse a lot of games far more easily. I have a very big project in mind. So you are saying it doesn't exist? Is there any way for me to add chess engine evaluations and commentary to a png like (white is better because of king safety) - claim made by a chess engine?

Decode chess has service that does this https://decodechess.com/

And making another is huge effort. I tried this one but - maybe because I am not much of a chess player - in mostly pointed out tactical mistakes.

Makin human understandable analysis out chess engine findings in anything but simple

Yes exactly I was talking about that when I said there are expensive options. It is also clearly stated on the site that it is made for beginners. When they already say that probably it won't be that good. The prices are ridiculously high, otherwise I would buy it. Also as I said, it mainly gives visual explanations, not text. I want a descriptive explanation, even if it is not completely perfect, but it should be like a podcast. I want to hear it, not see it, as this is the way I learn best.

Yes that is good enough, but I want to analyse a ton of games, not just 10 per months or something and I need it in form of a pgn to save it to my computer, not some instructions on some website.

Of course it is not simple, but I feel like with the development of AI we could achieve that. What I need to know is how could I achieve that with the least amount of self coding, as I don't know coding languages except for little javascript.
