Seriously though..not with as many cheaters as there is you can be put in the hole quickly and kept there by continuous cheating...my problem now..I'm 15 something and should be 27 something....lots of other players have the the same problem...we are playing games that would have been 18 something games a few years ago ..I know ..I've been playing on lichess for 9 straight years and have played almost 50 000 games and been rated 17 and 18 something

A higher chess rating might suggest certain cognitive strengths, but it's not a definitive measure of overall intelligence. Many factors contribute to success in chess, and intelligence is just one piece of the puzzle.

If you think test scores, say something like SAT scores, are a good measure of intelligence, then this would be relatively easy to study with a regression analysis. You'd just need a few hundred lichess players who would give their scores.

but there's different kinds of 'intelligence' think of wording well with a great vocabulary, think of social skills, of organizing in a dynamic setup, of own body awareness, of being an ingenious craftsman, of surviving in the wild or abroad, of artsy spirit, of cleverness at economizing ...
