Is it really possible to change the background in Lichess?

Yes, it is possible to change lichess background.
Click on your lichess username, go to backgrounds, select transparent. Then paste the image url in the box .
Which box?
Once you select transparent, there will be a box below which says 'Background image url'. Paste the link of the image that you want as background there.
