Chess boxing is a sport, not chess.
If chess was just a game, no one would watch the world championships, the tournaments, the competitions. Do you know of a game where the players are so prepared on psychology, strategy, tactics? only sports are like that

These attributes are not unique to sports. For example, when going to a store, I psychologically prepare for prices, develop tactics and strategies for successful purchases, etc.

We spend more, than we play chess. The sport of spending money.

Is chess a memory game or an intelligence game? It's both and more.

What do GM's know about intelligence? All they can do is play chess. LOL

I'd say rather : chess is not an intelligence game, but it is an intelligent game.

football/soccer, basketball, ice hockey require such skills, are they just games or sports? on the other hand, congratulations for transforming the supermarket routine into sport!
It's not for nothing that some chess players train their reflexes, do special nutrition, do exercises - it's because chess is a sport -

I don't care whether chess is a sport or not. The question was, are we playing a memory game or a battle of wits? And if you want to argue about something, then we can chat if you let new messages bother you on this site, and not engage in idle chatter, figuring out what sports are and what they are not.

... for new patterns/positions you do not know, is it more
about thinking or depth searching the next logical positions.
As the Nunn and Lasker quotes (#9) suggest, I think both are involved, and a decision about “more” can not be made without established units of measure. Is a car more wheels or engine?

You are right. Thanks for reminding me that I was going off topic, I'm sorry. Well, so can I return to the main subject without irony?
as there is theory and things to learn, chess is a memory game, there are also plenty of methods to remember well and scientific studies show that chess is beneficial for human memory. intelligence game? perhaps more of a learned game that has some logic, there is no skill needed to start learning the game (skills are needed only if you want to improve), anyone can learn chess even without having the IQ of Enstein. I would say that the intelligence of the game lies in the logic and logic of the player who must establish strategy and be able to analyze the position.
Greeting !
